As I write this, my daughter is running through the house in
a dirty diaper and a three-day old pajama top. She has jelly all over her face
and in her hair. Welcome to my life.

I’m not here to lecture women on their parenting style or to
“throw shade”. I’m here to remove the filter we put on for the world. I’m
going to show you the good, bad, and ugly!
So, let’s gets real: parenting is hard and it’s even harder alone.
When I lay down at night I think to myself, “I did it! We survived another
day”. I constantly question how I’ve managed to keep this human alive for 20+
months on my own, but can’t keep flowers for more than 2 days. And the kicker:
she is thriving! She is happy and smart. I AM DOING THIS!!!
My goal with this blog is to reach the struggling single
mommas out there. To share laughs, tears and support. Oh, and to keep it real.
REMEMBER: It is not all sunshine and roses, it is mostly poopy
diapers and cheerios for dinner.
The kids and flowers points - totally get it!
ReplyDeleteYour ability to balance "school, work, a toddler, and your sanity" on your own is undoubtedly worthy of admiration. You set a positive example for anyone who is either currently a parent or planning to become one in the future.
ReplyDeleteRemember, soon enough Kennedy will recognize the sacrifices you have made for her and will be there to help balance your workload as well as care for you. In the meantime, stay the course! You've got this!

ReplyDeleteGreat blog! Being a single mom is absolutely the most difficult task a human can encounter. I'm so proud of my mom! You should know you are an amazing role model for your daughter. It's tough balancing school work and step parenting. I can't imagine how I would pull this off if I had to care for Sophia everyday.
DeleteGood job!
